International Glaucoma Surgical Registry and Elios Vision announce partnership

Medical device company Elios Vision, a pioneer in the glaucoma space, announced a partnership with the International Glaucoma Surgical Registry (IGSR). The open-access database is intended to promote information sharing from surgeons worldwide. In a press release, leaders from Elios Vision and the IGSR stated the new collaboration would foster support of, and broader use of, the database.¹

“We are delighted to collaborate with and support the objectives of the International Glaucoma Surgical Registry,” said Dr Cameron Hudson, senior vice president OUS of Elios Vision.¹ “Capturing long-term, real-world evidence is of high importance especially when adopting and integrating new surgical treatments. We hope the collaboration will encourage other surgeons to utilize the platform for audit and data generation purposes.”

Currently, the IGSR holds data for 7000 procedures across 63 countries. The registry, established over 5 years ago, became the official registry partner of the European Glaucoma Society (EGS) in 2019. Professor Keith Barton, co-founder of the IGSR with Dr Nathan Kerr, also participated in the joint statement.

“We are grateful for the support of Elios Vision in furthering the objectives of the International Glaucoma Surgical Registry and look forward to expanding the capabilities of the Registry through their support,” Barton said.¹
