The European Commission's independent Scientific Committee on Emerging and Newly Identified Health Risks (SCENIHR) is seeking the assistance of ophthalmic experts who are interested in helping with its Health Effects Of Artificial Light working group.

The SCENIHR would specifically like to hear from ophthalmologists who have experience and knowledge of eye damage that has been induced by optical radiation. Additional knowledge of either retinal or cataract damage would also prove useful. Candidates with risk assessment experience would also be advantageous.

The deadline for applications is 1st September 2010 and instructions for submitting an application can be found here.
