The new range of pure and premixed gases are intended for medium-term use in retinal surgery
Ahead of the EURETINA annual meeting in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, later this week, Bausch + Lomb Corporation announced the European launch of its Pure‐line™ gas range.1 In a news release, Bausch + Lomb confirmed the Pure-line gases are available in pure or premixed iterations of SF6, C2F6 and C3F8. The gas range is the newest addition to the Bausch + Lomb surgical retina portfolio. Most recently, Bausch + Lomb added intraocular dyes to its surgical retina range, which are tailored for posterior and anterior staining.
At the EURETINA meeting, Bausch + Lomb will offer interactive demos of the new gases. The company will also host a symposium featuring a panel of physicians who have worked with the BLutein dyes and Pure-line gases. Mr Kurt Spiteri‐Cornish, consultant vitreo‐retinal surgeon at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield, United Kingdom, will serve on the panel. In the news release, he complimented the gases’ ease of use and “the option to choose from either pure or premixed versions.”1 Other speakers on the panel include Dr Barbara Parolini, Professor Siegfried Priglinger, and session chair Professor Robert Rejdak. Professor Priglinger will focus on the SeeLuma™ Fully Digital Surgical Visualisation Platform, another recent launch from Bausch + Lomb.
The Bausch + Lomb-sponsored event is one of many sponsored satellite symposia happening during the meeting. A full list of satellite symposia is available here.
