Barry G. Caldwell has been named as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of STAAR Surgical.

Barry G. Caldwell has been named as the new President and Chief Executive Officer of STAAR Surgical.

Mr Caldwell was previously President and CEO of IRIDEX Corporation where, during his two year tenure, he helped grow direct ophthalmic sales by more than 20%. He has also served in various leadership capacities with Alcon, CooperVision and Cavitron and has been a board member for Tekia and Laser Diagnostic Technologies, now part of Carl Zeiss Meditec.

Mr Caldwell replaces David Bailey who has now been named President of STAAR Surgical International Operations.
