Femtosecond platform

Femtosecond platform

Ziemer Ophthalmic Systems has launched the Femto LDV Z Models Z2, Z4 and Z6. The new femtosecond platforms can be used for treating a wide range of applications in ocular surgery.

The systems operate at pulse frequencies in the megahertz range and use very low pulse energy. This enables excellent visual outcomes and faster recovery.

Upgrade for OCT system

Optovue has launched the realtime tracking upgrade for the RTVue Fourier-domain OCT system. RTVue can be used to scan and analyse both posterior and anterior segments. Retina, retina nerve fibre and cornea assessment can also be completed.

The system features real-time video image processing and can be used in conjunction with existing RTVue hardware. With RTVue eye movement of the patient can be followed during the OCT scanning process.

Illuminators for vitreoretinal surgery

The Goodlight LED illuminators, developed by Oertli, can be used for intraocular illumination during vitreoretinal surgery. The light enables the surgeon to adjust the required amount of illumination onto the phacoemulsification device.

Light intensity with the Goodlight LED is increased by 60% and the risk of photoretinitis is significantly reduced.

The Goodlight LED is available in sizes 20G, 23G and 25G and can be used in combination with other light sources.
