Six eye charities have joined forces to invest £90 000 into six eye research projects.

Fight for Sight, Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, the International Glaucoma Association, the Macular Disease Society, Nystagmus Network, Olivia’s Vision and RP Fighting Blindness will investigate the conditions retinoblastoma, glaucoma, macular disease, nystagmus, uveitis and retinitis pigmentosa in universities and hospitals across the UK.

Dr Dolores Conroy, Director of Research at Fight for Sight, commented, "This research is absolutely vital, both for people living with leading causes of sight loss who have extremely limited treatment options, and for those of us who are losing their sight through rare eye conditions.

"By joining forces our aim is to combine our expertise to identify innovative ways of bringing hope to the millions of people who are currently living with visual impairment."
