The Pediatric Cataract Initiative has set a deadline of 15 November for the receipt of applications for its inaugural single small research grant.

This grant of $75,000 will be awarded to a qualified individual, institution or organization investigating the causes of paediatric cataract and/or improved treatment tools and protocols. It will support innovative research that can be performed in 12 months with limited resources.

There aren't geographical limitations placed on the allocation of the grant but the research should have a degree of applicability regionally or globally. Applicants are also permitted to submit more than one proposal so long as each is scientifically different.
