Bausch & Lomb has entered into an agreement to purchase eyeonics, the maker of the Crystalens accommodating IOL.

Bausch & Lomb has entered into an agreement to purchase eyeonics, the maker of the Crystalens accommodating IOL.

Upon completion of the deal, Bausch & Lomb will absorb eyeonics' operations as part of its surgical business. Eyeonics generated approximately $34 million in revenue in 2007, a 100% increase over the prior year.

The acquisition is expected to complete within the first quarter of 2008.
