A clinical study, published recently in Eye journal, looked at the relationship between the cornea and the optic disc and suggests that there is a structural relationship between the two.

Based in a hospital J.M. Kim and colleagues studied 205 eyes of 205 patients who, on visiting their glaucoma clinic, were diagnosed as normal. Using optic disc imaging with optic disc photography, optical coherence tomography, IOL master, specular microscopy, and ultrasound corneal pachymetry the subjects were given a full eye examination.
