PhysIOL used this year’s congress as a forum to launch its new aspheric aberration-correcting intraocular lenses - Slim AY 123 in a preloaded system and Micro AY for injection through a 1.8 mm microincision.

Both one-piece lenses, which are made in a hydrophilic acrylic material with 25% water content and have a 6.15 mm optical diameter, incorporate Blue Tech, PhysIOL’s proprietary blue-light filtration. The lenses were first introduced at the French Society of Ophthalmology meeting in May, and, according to PhysIOL, have received positive feedback because the lens material is resistant but also soft, requiring minimal pressure during injection.
