Breaking news from the floor of ESCRS

Lumenis has been displaying its range of photocoagulation and laser delivery technologies at ESCRS. Among the products on display is the company’s fully integrated, advanced laser delivery technology and slit lamp biomicroscope; Insight. According to the company this biomicroscope represents the latest in retina visualization. It is reported to address some of the well known challenges in ophthalmic laser delivery devices, including clear visualization of the retina, (including the periphery) and precise laser delivery to the target tissue. The device also features the company’s unique co-linear (CoLin) design that projects both illumination and laser beam on the same pathway.

The company also featured the Selecta Duet, which combines the company’s SLT technology with a YAG photodisruptor in a single platform.

The company’s Selecta Trio offers retinal, cataract and glaucoma therapies in a single platform. According to the company the integrated design, enhanced optics system and advanced laser cavity provide maximum flexibility and minimum footprint. It provides all the advantages of the Duet in SLT and VAG modes, but with the propriety advantages in photocoagulation mode.
