Geuder Group discussed several new products, including Brilliant Peel vitreoretinal fluid dye and Siluron 2000, during a posterior segment symposium at this year's Euretina meeting.

Brilliant Peel, developed by Fluoron GmbH in cooperation with renowned doctors from across Europe, is used to provide selective colouration of the inner limiting membrane (ILM) during posterior segment surgery. The non-toxic triphenylmethane dye, which is CE-marked, is available now.

Siluron 2000, a non-emulsifying long-term tamponade, has a reduced viscosity of 2000 mPas and is designed to be used during microincision surgery. The product will be launched later this year.

During the lunch symposium, speakers also discussed, among other topics, when 23 gauge or 25 gauge surgery should be undertaken and complications arising from the use of heavy liquids.
