CataractSurgery.com, an online resource for patient education, has been launched by Alcon, Inc.
The website aims to help patients communicate more clearly with their physicians by providing information on cataracts as well as on treatment options, including phaco and intraocular lenses (IOLs). The site makes use of images of cataracts, patient testimonials and videos, and text size is variable, for those with impaired vision.
The website is currently available only in English; a Spanish language version of the site is due to become live early next year.
